CamCEAD

Cambridge Centre of Excellence for Astronomical Data.

CASU

Cambridge Astronomical Survey Unit – division of CamCEAD responsible for WEAVE data processing.

CNAME

Coordinate Name. Name by which each WEAVE target is uniquely identified.

CCNAME

Central Coordinate Name. This is the CNAME of the central spaxel of the array for IFU data cubes.

CDP

Contributed Data Product. Data processed by third parties that are ingested into and indexed in the WEAVE Archive System.

CS

Contributed Software. Software provided by third parties that are run in conjunction with the WEAVE APS pipeline.

DR

Public Data Release. WEAVE data will be published every 12 months following the first public data release, which takes place 24 months after the start of WEAVE Survey operations.

FL

First Light. A specific WEAVE data release that contains WEAVE LIFU First-Light data. In general, later iDRs will contain results from earlier releases including the FL data. Special releases such as SV and release candidates (iDRCs) are scoped to their own datasets and are not automatically included in iDR queries.

iDR

Internal Data Release. Stable, immutable internal releases. iDRs are cumulative in the archive: selecting the latest iDR automatically includes all data from previous iDRs. Once WEAVE Survey operations are running routinely, iDRs are expected every three months.

iDRC

A pre-release in relation to an iDR that is updated frequently (typically daily) with L1 and L2-level data from CASU, and CDPs from external contributors of data products. Data in an iDRC may change without notice. Access to iDRC data is generally restricted to WEAVE Science Team members involved in checking the quality of data for their respective survey(s), and Open-Time PIs.

PATCH

Subregion identified as a target within the observed field in an IFU data cube.

SV

Science Verification. Access to this release will be restricted to WEAVE Science Team members involved in checking the quality of data for their restricted survey(s), and Open-Time SV PIs.

TNG

Telescopio Nazionale Galileo.

WAS

WEAVE Archive System. Developed and maintained by the TNG team, and designed for archiving and distributing WEAVE data.

WHT Enhanced Area Velocity Explorer.

WHT

William Herschel Telescope.

WNAME

WEAVE Archive System Name. Name provided and used internally by WAS, with which every target is uniquely identified and indexed. WNAME corresponds to the CNAME in the case of single fibres (IFU, MOS), or to the union of CCNAME+PATCH in the case of data cubes (IFU).
